i need help with script changes. i did followed eidos's instructions with dos prompt but when i created those files it says that it can't find german, french, etc.
what am i doing wrong?

Nothing, if this is the only error message. It simply says that you don't have the specified language .dat files on your system. I own the German version and get the error message, "Can't find JAPAN.DAT DUTCH.DAT FRENCH.DAT", but so what? The new script.dat, english.dat and strings.h files will have appeared in your \trle\script directory anyway.

The only thing is that when i put the files in place they come up with this weird language

Are you talikng about when you load the game up? If yes, then was the script change adding in a level? If so then I know what you have done wrong because I did the same thing. When you are adding in the name of your level don't add in a new line. Write over one of the exsisting levels. It can be any one. Hope this helps,
